The Program strives to provide timely assistance to those facing financial difficulties while fostering the supportive spirit of the Owl brotherhood.
This set of criteria ensures that the Brothers in Need Program can offer meaningful, targeted support to members when they need it most, while maintaining fairness and accountability.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Membership Status: – The applicant must be an active or honorary member of the Owl Legacy Foundation, or a direct family member (spouse, child, or dependent) of a member. – Sweethearts and families of deceased Owl members may also apply.
- Financial Hardship or Crisis: – Applicants must demonstrate a verifiable financial need due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to: – Medical emergencies or serious illness – Loss of income due to job loss or disability – Funeral expenses – Natural disasters affecting personal property – Any other situation deemed to qualify as a significant financial crisis by the Foundation’s Steering Committee
- Documentation: – Applicants are required to submit supporting documentation for the claimed hardship. This may include medical bills, termination letters, proof of income loss, or any relevant documents that substantiate the request.
- Limitations on Funding: – Financial assistance may not be used for non-essential personal expenses (e.g., luxury items, elective procedures). – Funding is provided on a case-by-case basis and is subject to availability within the Foundation’s budget. – Applicants may receive a maximum of one grant per calendar year, unless otherwise determined by the Steering Committee.
- Application Process: – Applicants must complete the formal application form, providing all requested information and documentation. – The Owl Legacy Foundation Steering Committee will review and evaluate each application on its merits. – Approved applicants will be notified within 30 days of submission, and funds will be disbursed shortly thereafter.
- Confidentiality: – All information provided in the application process will be treated with strict confidentiality.
